Microsoft’s Office 2019 should be published in the second half of 2018! But interested customers need to be prepared for some crucial limitations.
Microsoft is regularly launching a new version of its Office products every three years. The next version will be called Office 2019 and will be published in the second half of 2018. A first preview version of Office is already in the second quarter. But Windows 7 fans out in the cold, as the company now known has given, Because Office 2019 will only run on devices with Windows 10 or future versions of Windows server. In addition, Microsoft uses the red pencil for the support of its office suite: Instead of so far ten years, the manufacturer delivers in the future only seven years updates for the version. Of these, so-called Main-Support will run for about five years, followed by two years with Extended Support. The end of the support dated the manufacturer on 14 October 2025, which delimits the version of the subscription variant Office 365.
Office 2019: New content for popular programs
Microsoft Office 2019 will be published in the second half of 2018. The basic version contains the common programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook for your e-mail traffic. Updates include, for example, new features, formulas, and charts for Excel, as well as visual animations such as Morph and Zoom for PowerPoint. Also for the server series there is an update, which includes Exchange, SharePoint and Skype for Business. Above all, Microsoft plans to optimize administrative functions, ease of use and security. When exactly and at what prices the new Office packages appear, is not yet known – Microsoft calls only “late 2018” as a planned release date.
