Xiaomi is now one of the largest manufacturers of technology gadgets in China. In Germany, the blacksmith has the reputation to throw well-equipped smartphones at a ridiculous price on the market. It is all the more astonishing that “Xiaomi POCO” is now opening a new brand in India and Europe that wants to take on the job of the “flagship killer” after OnePlus .
The Xiaomi POCO F1 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of memory in India costs 21,000 rupees. For that, the Snapdragon 845 also works under the 6.2-inch FHD LCDSoC from Qualcomm. As a Deluxe version with 8GB / 256GB you get the equivalent of 360 €. If one counts the dual camera with Sony sensors (12MP + 5MP) and the 4,000mAh strong battery, then there is no smartphone in the hardware, which can match in terms of price / performance ratio.
Xiaomi / Poco has also announced the F1 for its European branches – next Monday there will be an event in Paris – but the prices will surely be different – more like 400 – 500 Euro. The necessary savings for such a price range exist for example in the design. We have not seen flagship hardware in a simple plastic case for so long and in the hands-on of a pre-production model, the photos of the dual camera did not come off so well. Incidentally, Android 8.1 is pre-installed with a Poco-specific version of MIUI– Android Pie is promised within the next three months.
In addition to USB Type-C, by the way, there is a traditional headphone jack and stereo speakers have housed the developers. A fingerprint scanner is located at the back, directly under the camera lenses – there are streaks unfortunately again inevitable. In the Notch, there are not only the 20MP front camera but also infrared detection of the face to unlock.
